Stokesley School – Anti‑Bullying Statement
At Stokesley School, we believe every student has the right to learn, thrive and achieve within a safe, respectful and supportive environment. Bullying of any kind is unacceptable and will always be taken seriously. We recognise that bullying can take many forms and can have both immediate and long‑lasting effects on a young person’s wellbeing, confidence, engagement, and attendance.
We are committed to educating our students so they understand what bullying is, what different types of bullying may look like, and how to respond safely and confidently if they experience or witness it.
Our curriculum, assemblies, Life Lesson programme and wider school activities provide regular opportunities for students to reflect on relationships, respect and behaviour, and to learn how to report concerns.
All staff at Stokesley School play a crucial role in identifying, recording and responding to concerns. We ensure that staff receive ongoing training so they know how to act when a student raises a concern and how to follow our reporting procedures clearly and consistently. Our recording systems enable us to monitor concerns, understand patterns, and take appropriate actions promptly to keep students safe.
We also recognise the importance of understanding the nature and scale of bullying within our setting. Regular reviews of recorded information and digital monitoring systems help us maintain awareness of emerging issues and ensure that our strategies remain effective and well‑informed.
Our Commitment:
· Bullying in any form will not be tolerated.
· All concerns raised by students, staff or families will be heard, taken seriously and acted upon quickly.
· Students will be supported and empowered to speak out safely.
· Staff will use consistent, well‑understood procedures to record and address incidents.
We will continue to educate our community about respect, safety and positive relationships.
Stokesley School remains committed to creating a culture where every student feels safe, valued and included, and where kindness, equality and respect are embedded in everyday school life.
