Curriculum
Our aim is to provide a broad and balanced curriculum enabling students to find a combination of A level subjects which reflect their academic preferences and provide a strong grounding for future study or employment.
Most students study 3 A Levels as the demands of these courses are high, however, some students who are particularly ambitious and capable of balancing work and social time effectively, take four A Levels and we are supportive of this where appropriate. All students students Core Maths or an EPQ in Year 12.
Our EPQ (Extended Project Qualification) adds an extra dimension to our offer, as students can use this as a means to demonstrate their research skills and earn vital extra UCAS points.
Core Maths can be studied alongside the three A levels choices. It is equivalent to an AS qualification and really helps students to improve their mathematical ability in order to meet the demands of the mathematical components in other A levels such as psychology, geography, biology and economics.
